Important Announcement

The name provides a more regional statement to the geographic location that the Centre services, however, the existing services and mandate are still entrepreneurship and small business.
Updates and Looking Forward
Seminars
The Leeds and Grenville Small Business Enterprise Centre offered a series of six seminars
in the first quarter of 2006 to budding and established small businesses. It worked in
conjunction with other service providers to deliver these informative and value added seminars which were a great success with over 80 participants taking part. Participant feedback on the seminars was excellent. The Centre is planning a series of seminars for the fall centered around issues of importance to small business owners.
Consulting
Personalized consultations on various elements of small business are available at our
Brockville office, the Sampson House in Gananoque, the Municipal Complex Kemptville or at
CSE Consulting in Kemptville or Prescott. Providing outreach services to the rural
communities is an important function and integral part of the Enterprise Centre.
Youth
The Leeds and Grenville Small Business Enterprise
Centre Summer Company program is now underway. Interviews and selections are now being done for this youth focused program which fosters future entrepreneurs in our community with start up funds and mentoring. Participants should be in place by late May/early June for the 8-week endeavor. This year, the Enterprise Centre has some great candidates and sees the program being a undeniable success.
The Enterprise Centre partnered with The Lanark North Leeds Enterprise Centre delivered a youth conference in Kemptville in March. Over 70 youths participated in the one day event focused on high school business students in Lanark, Leeds and Grenville. The Enterprise Centre hopes to duplicate the success of the conference in 2007.
The Business Plan Competition is currently taking place in Grenville County. Plans should be submitted by early June when the selections will be made and the winner awarded a cash prize. The winner will then go on to compete in the regional competition and, if successful there, the provincial competition.
